Friul Mosaic was established in 1987 thanks to William Bertoia’s passion for mosaic art. The art of mosaic, or as the Greeks and Latins called it, “patient work, worthy of the Muses,” boasts a history that is lost in the millennia, stretching from the floor coverings of the sumptuous Roman patrician villas to the magnificent Byzantine mosaics, to the Art Nouveau wall decorations of Gaudi and Klimt. For 38 years Friul Mosaic commitment has been to constantly explore and innovate the infinite expressive potential of this ancient artistic technique.
