THE MONACO YACHT SHOW IS COMMITTED
Leading economic and media actor for the Principality of Monaco, the Monaco Yacht Show also supports the country's environmental and medical actions.
The MYS's commitment to the environmental cause is also expressed in its support of foundations and organisations to raise awareness among the international yachting community about the protection of the oceans.
Scientific research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy
Since 2001, the MYS has been supporting Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies (A.M.M.), a major player in scientific research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a genetic disease that affects one in 3,500 births (mostly boys).

The research is mainly financed by the Only Watch project, a biennial charity auction founded by Luc Pettavino, president of A.M.M.
Since 2005, Only Watch has raised EUR 100 million, 99% of which goes directly to scientific research.
Only Watch has now become the world's largest charity auction of fine watches. Its success has enabled the acceleration of scientific research with the ultimate goal of developing a drug.
The Monaco Yacht Show supports Only Watch by launching the world touring exhibition of the watch collection in Monaco. The show organisers contribute to the financing of research with a donation of €37,000 to
Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies in 2021.
On November 6, 2021 in Geneva, the 9th edition of Only Watch collected €28.5 million with the sale of 53 lots under the hammer of Christie's auctioneer (read the official
press release).
Only Watch is organised by A.M.M. under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco.
