Press release – 23 October 2025

In 2025, the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) took a decisive step in its commitment to a more responsible yachting industry with the inaugural Blue Wake™ programme, developed with the support of Water Revolution Foundation and sponsored by Siemens Energy.
This initiative marks a major advance in recognising and showcasing more eco-responsible solutions with proven, real-world impact, by providing a selective, evidence-based validation framework to identify the most promising innovations presented at MYS.

At the 34 th Monaco Yacht Show (24–27 Sept 2025), 59 exhibitors were validated against clear criteria covering emissions reduction, material circularity, eco-design and innovation, and the protection of water and marine ecosystems.

This first edition confirmed that effective solutions already exist—and deserve to be spotlighted on a global stage to speed up adoption and inspire the entire sector.

Practical solutions from a sector in transformation
Blue Wake has established the foundations of a structured, exacting framework designed to identify and elevate the sector’s most relevant, durable innovations—while galvanising a more virtuous industry grounded in innovation, transparency and collaboration.

The showcased technologies covered a broad spectrum: hybrid and hydrogen propulsion, alternative fuels, optimised energy management, water treatment, recyclable materials, eco-designed furnishings, sustainable marina infrastructure, and environmental digitalisation tools.

Taken together, these advances demonstrate the vitality of a fast-evolving ecosystem in which every link in the chain—from yacht construction to operations and adjacent services—contributes actively to reducing the sector’s environmental footprint. Blue Wake shows that yachting’s sustainable transition is already well under way.

The Blue Wake Awards: celebrating excellence and commitment
On the eve of the show (23 September 2025, Le Méridien Beach Plaza, Monaco), the Blue Wake Awards honoured five standout initiatives during the Grand Opening Night of MYS 2025, recognising exemplary approaches to sustainability and tangible impact on the sector’s transition:

TYKUN for its hydrogen propulsion (category: “Tenders & Water Toys”),
Tai Ping for its biodegradable carpets (“Luxury Products & Services”),
Deasyl for its low-carbon fuel (“Marine Equipment Suppliers”),
Sanlorenzo for their fuel-cells powered yacht line (“Shipyards & Refit/Service”),
SilverYachts for MY Reduce, its lightweight aluminium catamaran, and efficient onboard systems (Special Jury Award).

These awards celebrated the diversity and calibre of initiatives across the yachting spectrum—from major shipyards and equipment manufacturers to young businesses—demonstrating that innovation and sustainability can go hand in hand with performance and design.

Monaco Yacht Show: a catalyst for yachting’s transition
With Blue Wake, MYS has strengthened its role as the world’s showcase and an influential platform for eco-responsible innovation. Leveraging the show’s media reach and institutional standing, these solutions gained international visibility, placing them squarely in front of decision-makers, builders, owners and clients.

By partnering with Water Revolution Foundation, MYS ensured Blue Wake would be underpinned by solid environmental standards—reinforcing the programme’s credibility and that of its participants. This fusion of rigour and reach has made MYS a powerful promotional vector of yachting’s environmental transition.

Looking to 2026: widening the circle of validated companies
Building on this first edition, the Monaco Yacht Show is already preparing the 2026 Blue Wake programme, with the aim of welcoming more exhibitors with solutions and amplifying the momentum established this year.

Only MYS exhibitors will be eligible to apply from March 2026 (subject to confirmed participation in MYS 2026).

Submissions will undergo an evaluation process led by the Water Revolution Foundation, ensuring the  environmental credibility and operational relevance of the innovations selected.

Through the Blue Wake™ programme, MYS reaffirms its commitment to the environmental transition of yachting—with the ambition to become the international benchmark platform for promoting and disseminating the sector’s eco-responsible solutions.
