At Amer Yachts, research and development are the real essence of our company. With the GENE.SYS project, developed in collaboration with the Italian tech startup P2M, we are reshaping digital traceability and sustainability in yachting.
From the mere construction to end-of-life, GENE.SYS is a “digital passport” system that stores all critical data about a yacht, through RFID tags and a web-based platform. For the MINI pilot project, a sustainable ocean racing boat built with basalt fiber and thermoplastic resin, we are using GENE.SYS to document every aspect of the boat’s identity: materials, processes, environmental data and recyclability potential.
In order to anticipate upcoming European regulations (such as ESPR – Digital Product Passport), meet ESG criteria and promote an environmental-friendly approach in the yachting industry. It also empowers shipyards and owners with reliable, long-term access to their boat’s DNA, enhancing quality and transparency.
