at a time of great innovation,
exclusive quality and citizen engagement

The 17th Monaco Yacht Show will
be held from the 19th till the 22nd of September
2007 in Monaco’s Port Hercules, and will once
again be the focal point for business in the luxury
yachting sector.
All the top-level professionals will be there, including
ship-builders and designers, naval architects, yacht
equipment suppliers, brokers and service providers;
a whole range of the luxury yachting activities.
With 500 exhibitors coming from 38 different countries,
the show has already been booked up for several months.
And around 24 000 visitors are expected to be there.
In the in-water exhibition, ship-builders and brokers
will be displaying 95 of their very finest works
of art to demonstrate the harmonious encounter of
innovation, prestige and exclusive quality.
The 17th Monaco Yacht Show will present an exceptional
range of new models with more than 30 maritime jewels
to be unveiled to the world for the first time ever.
The Monaco Yacht Show’s tradition of quality
service and red-carpet reception
Focused on permanent improvement, the Organisers
of the Monaco Yacht Show have spent the last year
preparing a series of new measures intended to ensure
both a top-quality exhibition and the appropriate
services to be provided to both exhibitors and visitors
to the show:
- greater and more prestigious stands, including
two-storey pavilions on the Quai des Etats-Unis;
- the Press Lounge and the Press Centre found on the
Darse Sud quay are to be extended and refurbished.
Two new places, devoted to international press specialised
in yachting and luxury line, will be provided jointly
with Only Yacht, specialist in yacht insurance;
- the newly refurbished Baccarat Crystal Lounge, with
the participation of Tai Ping for the carpets and
RBC Mobilier for the furniture. The highlights this
year will be the unveiling of a selection of Philippe
Starck's "Darkside" collection by Baccarat;
- the Business Centre, which will bear the colours
of ING Lease/Private Banking and will offer participants
more computer and Internet access. In addition, all
exhibitors will be provided with free Internet connection
cards.
This year, the show will extend its exhibition along
the whole of the T Central quay, offering more in-water
exhibition space for yachts, 50% of which will be
more than 40 meters long. Additional stands will be
set up along the T Central quay and at the end of
the North Jetty to enable exhibitors to create new
welcoming space next to their boats.
Van Cleef & Arpels: a new official partner
A new official partner has decided to enrich the
17th Monaco Yacht Show by joining up, the famous
jeweller, Van Cleef & Arpels. The two companies
wished to unite their image and their fame in order
to satisfy their shared high-class clientele all
the better by consolidating their shared values;
a quest for excellence, creativity, quality and integrity.
This means that Van Cleef & Arpels is to join the historic official partners
of the Monaco Yacht Show which include La Compagnie Monégasque de Banque,
Blancpain, the Swiss watchmaker and the Mercedes-Benz car company.
The MYS continues its commitment to protecting environment
The Monaco Yacht Show is well aware of the scale
of the danger our planet is facing. That is why it
has adopted a sustainalble development strategy over
the past three years which consists in paying an ecology
tax each year to help fund ecology projects throughout
the world. This ecology tax is calculated on the basis
of the carbon dioxide emissions caused by exhibitors,
visitors and yachts presented in the in-water exhibition
(including transport, accomodation and arrival at
Monaco of the yachts themselves).
In 2007, the Monaco Yacht Show is continuing its
commitment to environmental protection and will set
up new projects in India and China.
The show is already financing environmental projects
of great scale in Pennsylvania, Brittany and New Zealand.
These projects which are being carried out joinly
with Camper & Nicholsons International have enabled
the world leader in international luxury yachts shows
to earn the Carbon Neutral stamp ®.
This akes the Monaco Yacht Show the first Monaco-based
company to be awarded this stamp.
ONLY WATCH 2007: an auction at the Monaco Yacht
Show to help fight Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
On September 20th, 2007, the MYS will hold an exceptional
auction: “ONLY WATCH
2007” to offer to
the highest bidder 34 watches which are either unique
in their kind or the first in a select line and all
of which have been donated by 34 prestigious watchmakers.
This auction will be organised with the invaluable
help of Antiquorum auctioneers and the proceeds of
this charity event will be donated entirely to help
fight against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
The main international players and observers will
have the opportunity during the four days of the
Monaco Yacht Show to form an impression of the extraordinary
development of a sector of activity which is showing
an unprecedented growth and which is keeping abreast
of the times.
