Le Monaco Yacht Show 2009 se positionne comme le plus important événement mondial dans le monde du yachting de luxe.

En effet, la 19ème édition du Show rassemblera une centaine de yachts de 25 à 80 mètres, parmi lesquels on pourra découvrir 40 constructions inédites. 500 entreprises parmi les plus importantes de cette industrie participeront à cette édition qui attend une foule de visiteurs nombreuse et motivée. Mais cet événement est aussi un partenaire fidèle et prestigieux des grandes causes chères à la Principauté.

Activement engagé dans la défense de l'environnement, le Monaco Yacht Show a eu le souci constant au cours de ces 5 dernières années de limiter ses émissions de CO2 par le respect rigoureux du programme « Carbon Neutral ».

Ce prestigieux événement international contribue également aux causes caritatives en consacrant la moitié de ses revenus à l'Association Monégasque contre la Dystrophie Musculaire pour l'aider à combattre ce fléau. Il organise également le célèbre « Only Watch », vente caritative aux enchères de montres aujourd'hui mondialement connue.

Le succès du Show n'existerait pas sans l'énergie qu'y consacre Luc Pettavino et toute son équipe. Je tenais à les en remercier tout particulièrement.

In 1912, HSH Prince Albert I wrote about the construction of the harbor breakwaters:

"... my desire to consolidate the creation of the harbor, which should become one of the strongest contributors to our prosperity and is always an extraordinary sight for those who remember the sea breaking on the rocks all around Monaco's roadstead only a dozen years ago. The floods of salt water have become floods of people."

Today we can appreciate just how prophetic those words were. Now the cruise liners that disgorge their thousands of passengers rub shoulders with the yachts and superb craft that abound in Port Hercule. But although sumptuous, this multitude is only a pale reflection of what the 19th Monaco Yacht show will be.

Again this year, Luc Pettavino and his team will transform this harbor so dear to Prince Albert I into a showcase displaying "pure gems", the most superb craft built by shipyards the world over, to a public whose desire for novelty, beauty and elegance never ceases to grow.

Forty craft, newly launched from their shipyards and each more spectacular than the last, will be moored in Monaco's harbor and roadstead. Each of them brings innovation, each is the combined result of efforts by the best design offices in naval architecture, presenting the best solutions for sustainable development and protecting the maritime world.

Through its dedication to the principles of environmental protection developed by HSH the Sovereign Prince, the Monaco Yacht Show once again demonstrates its civic commitment to safeguarding our planet's seas and oceans.

May all the people contributing to this event be sincerely congratulated not only for their efficiency and responsible attitude but equally for the excellent image of the Principality that they promote throughout the world of luxury yachting.

This unique show holding carbon-neutral certification is a concrete expression of the Principality of Monaco's determined commitment to helping preserve the environment and every year progressively heightens awareness of this noble cause among all luxury yachting's international players. From 23 rd to 26 th September in Port Hercule, enthusiasts, private and professional clients can once again admire some 100 fascinating yachts built by the most sophisticated shipyards and exhibited by them and the sector's leading brokers.

Over the years this prestigious trade fair has established itself as high-end yachting's must event. This is indisputable proof of the success of the whole team, led by Luc PETTAVINO, whose determination and efficiency I cannot praise enough, in making the Monaco Yacht Show a referential event overcoming this difficult period.

It is with pride and enthusiasm that once again this year the Principality welcomes the private clients, professionals and many faithful visitors who will help make the 19th Monaco Yacht Show a resounding and well-deserved success.
