The Monaco Yacht Show, in collaboration with the Government of the Principality of Monaco, maintains the series of measures of security “Vigirenfort” (red level of the French national alert system) to strengthen security checks both at the various quayside entry points to the show and on the water.

Strengthening of security measures on land

The Monaco Yacht Show has identified 16 possible points of entry and access to the Show. One or several security agents will perform visual checks of bags of all types and will ask those wishing to access the Show to open their jackets.

These access points are shown on the plan here below.

See the map with the control check

In order to limit as far as possible the number of checkpoints some entrances will be closed in 2017.

- The access below the T Central will be open only between 8 am and 10 am for exhibitors and deliveries, and then from 5 pm to 9 pm for cocktail parties.
- Access is available at the level of the information point at the turn of Louis Chiron / downstairs the new Quai Albert Ier from 10 am to 6.30 pm.
- Due to the setting of the new exhibition tent of Quai Albert Ier, the entrance on the corner of the Quai Jarlan will remain open during the opening hours of the Show, i.e. from 10 am to 6.30 pm for all participants.
- Access via the Quai des Etats-Unis at the level of the Quick curve will remain closed throughout the 4 days of the Show.
- The 3 emergency exits from the air-conditioned tent on the Darse Sud facing the shops and restaurants there will also be closed. Access to the Darse Sud air-conditioned tent will be via the doors at each end of the tent.

On account of the layout of the Show, we ask for the cooperation of visitors and exhibitors in accepting the frequent checks they will be subject to.

The MYS Organisation Committee reserves the right to deny access to any person who refuses to cooperate with the security checks at the entrances to the Show, even if that person possesses a valid access badge.

Access to the Piscine road will be authorized for deliveries before 9.30 am and after 3 pm.

Operators of any vehicle requiring access to this road must declare in advance the identity of the driver (Name, first name, date and place of birth, ID card or passport number) and the vehicle (licence plate number) to the MYS Organisation Committee by filling in the Service providers’ pass available on the Exhibitor Zone.

Access to the show venue for the exhibitors’ service providers

The providers that must intervene on the exhibitor’s stand (stand builder, deliverer…) has to present a service providers’ pass to the security agents to access the show. Any provider that does not present a service providers’ pass will not be authorized to enter the venue for security reasons.

NB: the service providers’ pass is only reserved to companies that are not referenced as MYS official provider.

The exhibitor must edit a service providers’ pass in their digital Exhibitor Zone and forward this document to their providers.

Control of access by sea at harbour entrance

The security system implemented in 2016 at the entrance of Port Hercules will remain the same during the 2017 Monaco Yacht Show. The system involves the creation of a barrier in the channel between the Quai Rainier III and the Quai Lucciana, the creation of a pass granting access to the harbour to be displayed on all vessels, and control of all inbound and outbound movements.

A sticker, mentioning the license plate number and the authorization to access the harbour has to be displayed as visible as possible at the port side of the boat.

For each boat, the following badges will be distributed:
- One “Captain” badge
- One or several “Bay tender” badge(s) depending on the maximum capacity of the tender

These badges will not be considered as an accreditation for the MYS but will only allow the access to the waters of the Port Hercules.

Only the boats that will have the following documents will be granted to access the waters of the Port Hercules.
- The sticker (displayed as visible as possible at the port side of the boat)
- An individual “Bay tender” badge for each passenger

Any vessel not displaying the pass will not be granted access to the waters of the Port Hercules.

Access to the Port Hercules will be controlled as follows from 0.01 am on Wednesday 27 September to 6pm on Saturday 30 September:

During the day:
Access available on presentation of the green sticker clearly displayed as visible as possible at the port side of the boat (including the tender’s license plate):
- To MYS exhibitors and any affiliated boats authorized by the MYS Organizing Committee (tenders to yachts exhibited, tenders exhibited, exhibitors' private tender services).
- To vessels duly authorized by the port authorities (SEPM – Maritime Affairs Department).
- To members of the Yacht Club de Monaco.

The Maritime Affairs Department and the Maritime and Airport Department of the Monegasque police will set up a check point to verify accreditations. Any vessel or person not duly accredited will automatically be refused access and invited to embark/disembark at Fontvieille.

The Monegasque authorities will be responsible for implementation of the security measures adopted by the Government of the Principality. No exceptions will be allowed. Access to the harbour will be strictly prohibited to any vessel not in possession of a pass.

In addition:
- All passengers on board of a vessel with an MYS sticker must themselves possess a “Bay tender” pass.

At night:
- The harbour will be closed from 0.01 am to 5 am on Wednesday 27, Thursday 28, Friday 29 September and Saturday 30 October 2017.

NB: For evening events on yachts moored in the bay guests may leave from Port Hercules but if returning after midnight they must be landed at Fontvieille harbour.

- Passengers disembarking in the Port Hercules between 7 pm and midnight or between 5 am and 10 am can only do so at the pontoon of the Yacht Club de Monaco (located alongside the slipway).

Passengers leaving the MYS enclosure must use the gate situated opposite the atrium as the quays of the Port Hercules are not accessible to the public outside the opening hours of the Show.

Badges for the Captains and the passengers

A special “Captain of the tender” badge will be attributed along with the sticker.

Each demand for a tender sticker will have to mention the number of passengers transported above the maximum legal capacity on board. These “Bay tender” badges will be used only for the transfer of the passengers and have to remain on board of the tender in order to make the circulation of the shuttle boat easier during the 4 days of the Show. This “Bay tender” Show does not authorize the access to the MYS.

Every passenger has to show a valid access badge to the MYS or a “One Day Pass” to the hostess of the arrival dock in order to access the show. A daily visitor pass can be purchased directly from the hostess of the arrival dock (cash only) or at the entrances of the MYS.
